NO Southern trains will run to or from London Victoria this weekend due to maintenance work taking place.
The work is the first of many line closures this year while Network Rail perform work to “modernise” the 1980s track and signalling on the lines into London Victoria station.
Works on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 of January mean that people will have to find a different route travelling from Brighton to London.
Southern Rail is running an amended timetable of trains to London Bridge, which gives access to London Victoria.
Transport companies have been struggling with staff shortages recently due to staff being off with Covid or having to isolate waiting for a PCR test result which is the reason for the amended timetable.
These are the current dates for planned works, although there could still be more added this year:
- Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 January
- Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 March
- Saturday 9 to Sunday 10 April
- Friday 15 to Monday 18 April (Easter Bank Holiday)
- Sunday 1 to Monday 2 May (May Bank Holiday
- Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 May
- Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 July
- Sunday 25 December 2022 to Monday 2 January 2023
