PICTURES show crews working to fix a 15ft high water main leak.
The water pipe burst in West Way, Lancing and has been described as a "geyser" by residents, who said water was spraying up to 15ft high.
Southern Water teams attended the leak at around 4pm this afternoon.
Nigel Sweet, 63, who lives nearby said: "I've seen a photo and it's a fountain! The contractors still mending the sewage pipe don't seem bothered and it's been like a geyser for at least an hour."
It is the sixth time a pipe has burst in the area in recent months, with raw sewage spilling onto the street five times since October.
Southern Water has repaired the sewage pipe several times since it first burst but the leaks have continued, leaving residents worried their homes will be flooded.
The company is currently working to fix the leak permanently to ensure it will not happen again,
