A HOTEL chain has revealed the weird and whacky items left behind by its customers in Sussex.
Travelodge has sites in across the county - and it appears all have lost property sections brimming with some bizarre bits and pieces.
Foremost among them has to be full size Star Wars storm trooper costume in Worthing.
With the Staycation being a top holiday choice in 2021, Travelodge hotel staff have reported a significant rise in items being left behind in their hotels over the last 12 months.
Some of the interesting finds in Brighton include a love letter written 40 years ago in the site on West Street and a gold genie lamp in the Preston Road hotel.
The housekeeping team at the Travelodge in Preston Road were also pleasantly surprised when they entered one of the rooms to be greeted by a huge inflatable unicorn pool float sitting on the bed.
The weird and whacky items were not just in Brighton though, with a 6ft Christmas tree with decorations and Nutcracker soldiers found in Arundel Fontwell Park Travelodge
A five tier rainbow themed 30th birthday cake was left in a room at the Chichester Central Travelodge.

Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokeswoman said: “In 2021, following Freedom Day, we welcomed back millions of customers to our 582 UK Travelodge hotels including our hotels in Brighton, and we saw a significant increase in bookings.
"This has led to a range of interesting items being left behind by our customers across our UK hotels.
“When it comes to why so many of our customers forget their treasured items, it’s basically due to us all being time poor, juggling multiple tasks and being in a hurry to get from A to B.
"In the rush, valuable possessions are easily forgotten.”
