A MISSING child has been reunited with its parents after being located by the coastguard.
Newhaven and Shoreham Coastguard Rescue Teams were tasked with helping find a child who had gone missing on Hove seafront.
“The child was located and reunited with their parents,” a Newhaven Coastguard spokesman said.
The incident took place on Sunday January 9.
On Saturday, three people were airlifted to safety after getting cut off by the tide at the Seven Sisters cliffs.
Newhaven, Birling Gap and Eastbourne Coastguard crews were called to search the area.
The group were located and winched to safety by the coastguard rescue helicopter.
A Newhaven Coastguard spokesman said: “When exploring the beaches always check local tide times, and let someone know where you are and expected arrival time back.”
On January 5, the coastguard assisted in the rescue of a person in the water at West Beach, Newhaven.
Alongside Brighton RNLI, police and ambulance, the person was recovered to the shore and treated for exposure to cold.
