AN APPEAL has been launched to reunite a very dapper lost cat with its owner.
A moggy in a bow tie was found in The Spinney, Pulborough, at the weekend.
The "handsome boy" was taken to Grove Lodge veterinary surgery in Upper Brighton Road, Worthing.
There was concerns about the health of the cat, believed to be a pet due to his "fetching ensemble".
The cat is currently hospitalised and is receiving veterinary treatment.
Vets confirmed the cat has not been microchipped.
Staff say that judging by his tartan bow tie, he must be “very well loved” and missed by his owners.
They are now trying to track down get him home.
It is believed he lives in the Pulborough area and staff want to hear from anyone with information.
A Facebook post by Arun Veterinary Group said: "We have been asked to post by another local practice.
"This very handsome boy was found near The Spinney at the weekend unwell. The finder took him all the way to Grove Lodge in Worthing where he currently is hospitalised.
"Judging by his very fetching ensemble we are certain he very well loved and is owned locally in the village.
"If he looks at all familiar to anyone please call Grove Lodge as soon as possible as he is currently receiving veterinary treatment.
"Because he was taken out of the local area, Grove Lodge are concerned it may be difficult to trace his owner and this is why we need all of your help.
"Thank you as always."
The post has now been shared more than 1,200 times on the social media site.
Lost Cats Brighton has also issued an appeal for information.
In the comments, people were quick to offer their support.
One Facebook user said: "What a beautiful cat. Hope the owners are found. Must be worried.
Another added: "Bless him, I'm sure someone is looking for him. Hope he is reunited and on the road to recovery
The surgery is urging anyone who recognises him, or knows his owner, to get in touch.
