A BUSY high street has been blocked off after a car crashed into a building.
One car was involved in the incident at the corner of Green Street and Northiam Road in Eastbourne and ended up on the pavement up against a shop.
Pictures of the incident, which happened just before 3pm this afternoon, show a Mercedes-Benz crashed with damage to its bumper.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue said one person had been freed from a car.
One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The road was blocked while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
An ESFRS spokeswoman said: "We were called at 14.58 to Albert Parade where a car had collided with a building. One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
"We extricated one casualty."
The fire service also had to make sure a gas leak was safe at the scene.
