TOTTENHAM Hotspur has donated the food from their postponed match against Albion to a food bank.
The Premier League fixture was scrapped after 13 first-team players and staff members tested positive for Covid-19.
The match at the Amex was due to take place on Sunday, December 12.
Following the postponement, Tottenham Hotspur announced that the food ordered for their stay in a Sussex hotel would be donated to a local food bank.
The club tweeted: “We can also confirm that food ordered for our team’s cancelled hotel stay in Brighton over the weekend has been donated to The Whitehawk Foodbank.”
The organisation provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to people in Whitehawk and the wider East Brighton area who are in crisis.
We can also confirm that food ordered for our team’s cancelled hotel stay in Brighton over the weekend has been donated to @WhitehawkFB. 💙

Following the postponement of Spurs’ Europa Conference League match against Rennes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the home side also redistributed surplus food intended for the match into the local community.
They used the help of Felix Project UK – a service who rescues surplus food and delivers it to vulnerable people.
The gesture comes as the Premier League reports a record number of positive coronavirus tests.
There are currently 42 new positive Covid cases among club players and staff - the highest weekly figure recorded since testing figures began being circulated in May last year.
As a result, Manchester United’s game at Brentford on Tuesday night has also been postponed.
“Between Monday, December 6, and Sunday, December 12, 3,805 players and club staff were tested for Covid-19. Of these, there were 42 new positive cases,” the Premier League said in a statement.
Clubs have also been instructed by the league to reinstate emergency measures, including the wearing of face masks, observing social distancing and limiting treatment time, amid the tightening of Covid-19 restrictions in England last week.
The league has also announced it will “increase the frequency of both lateral flow and PCR Covid-19 testing of players and staff” as concerns heighten nationally amid the spread of the Omicron variant.
“The safety of everybody is a priority and the Premier League is taking all precautionary steps in light of the recent rise in Covid-19 cases across the country,” the statement added.
“We will continue to work closely with the Government, local authorities and supporter groups, while being responsive to any future changes to national or local guidance.”
