A MAN has been charged with sexually assaulting a child almost three decades ago.
Michael O'Neill appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court charged with six counts of indecent assault on a boy aged between 11 and 12.
The crimes are alleged to have happened in Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath between 1992 and 1993.
O'Neill, of High Street, Stockbridge, was known as Mike Blackmore at that time, according to police.
He was committed for trial on court bail, with an initial appearance due at Lewes Crown Court on January 4.
The prosecution follows an investigation by the Sussex Police Complex Abuse Unit.
