FOUR people have been rescued after a shop went up in flames in the early hours of the morning.
Crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received multiple calls of a fire in a shop in Brighton Road, Worthing at 4.48am.
Firefighters rescued four people using breathing apparatus and used high-pressure hose reels and a jet to extinguish the fire at the rear of the property.
Pictures from the scene show the scale of the incident, with firefighters working through the darkness to tackle the blaze.

Smoke can be seen billowing from the shop while East Sussex Fire and Rescue crew also assisted in responding to the emergency.
A West Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “At 4.48am this morning we received multiple calls to a fire in a shop in Brighton Road, Worthing.
"Firefighters rescued four people using breathing apparatus and used high pressure hose reels and a jet to extinguish the fire at the rear of the property.
"We mobilised three appliances and were supported by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
"We left the scene at 6.30am this morning.”
