A BRIGHTON-BASED drag queen has won a prestigious title as the latest series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK came to an end.
Despite being eliminated in the first week of the show, 20-year-old Anubis was unofficially voted 'Miss Congeniality' by her fellow contestants.
The title is awarded to the queen who is regarded as the kindest and most helpful contestant on their respective season.
Although the UK version of the show does not officially appoint a winner of the title, the drag queens of series three voted for their choice for the title in partnership with gossip magazine PopBuzz.
Winner of this series Krystal Versace described Anubis as an "angel".
Speaking to PopBuzz, Krystal said: "She is a power house and there is honestly no one like her.
"I can't think of any drag queen I can compare her to. She's incredible. She's the sweetest person and all round angel. I love her so much."
Anubis is believed to be the first contestant to win the award, either officially or unofficially, after being eliminated first in the competition.
She was the second Brighton queen to participate in the BBC hit show, with Joe Black also being eliminated first. Although Joe was brought back to the competition after a contestant contracted Covid, they were again told to "sashay away" after being criticised for wearing an outfit bought from high-street retailer H&M.
"Well, I'm from Brighton, so I don't really prepare winner's speeches, but I've broken the curse," Anubis told PopBuzz.
Krystal was announced as the winner of series three of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in an episode released yesterday evening.
Joined by her fellow finalists Ella Vaday and Kitty Scott-Claus, the final three had to create verses and choreography to a Christmas song sung by host RuPaul, titled 'Hey Sis, It's Christmas'.
