A CAT has been rescued from a burning house and treated with oxygen.
Firefighters from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Carnegie Close in Worthing at 9.42pm to reports of a house fire.
The family living in the property had all got out safely but their beloved pet cat was still believed to be in the building.
Crews from Lancing and Worthing Fire Station found the missing cat and took him to safety.
A fire service spokesman said: “Once outside the building they were able to administer oxygen therapy to the cat using a specialist set of breathing apparatus designed for pets.
“Firefighters remained on scene and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no further hotspots left by the fire.”
