AN URGENT investigation is being launched after a bus got stuck underneath a bridge.
The double decker rail replacement became trapped in the underpass in Trafalgar Street, Brighton, after taking a wrong turn on Saturday morning. No one was hurt.
The bus belongs to London bus company Go-Ahead London.
It said it was launching an “urgent investigation” so it can understand what happened.
A spokesman said: “A double-deck bus on rail replacement duties took an incorrect turn on the approach to Brighton Station, which resulted in a very low-speed bridge strike.
“No one was injured and the bus was able to manoeuvre from the situation relatively quickly, without structural damage to either the bridge or the vehicle.
“Events of this kind are extremely rare, but the company has launched an urgent investigation and is committed to learn from it.”
