THIS VIDEO shows behind-the-scenes access of the filming for Grace this morning, which was watched by the Duchess of Cornwall.
The scene being filmed was for Dead Tomorrow where DS Glen Branson, who is played by Richie Campbell, is going on a boat from Shoreham Port to a dredging site to try and discover more dumped bodies.
The Duchess of Cornwall, who is a big fan of the crime novels by Peter James, was invited by the author to see the filming in action.
The Duchess even joked to Peter James that she would “like a cameo role one day”.
Peter said he would definitely like to see the Duchess in the Roy Grace, and he has even written her into one of his books.
He said: “I’m definitely going to make that happen, I joked about it but I think she might be up for it.
“Well funnily enough, in the latest book coming out next year. I have Norman Potting and Roy Grace both collecting a medal and having it presented by Prince Charles and her Highness.
“She gets herself a mention in the book so maybe we could film the actual scene.”
Camilla was joined in the production tent by Huw Kennair-Jones, drama commissioner for ITV, Peter James and John Simm, who plays DS Roy Grace.
Camilla had to brave the cold winds of Shoreham Port this morning, but looked delighted to see one of her favourite books come to life on the screen in front of her.
