POLICE have confirmed that a road will remain closed until tomorrow evening due to smoke from a silage bale fire causing visibility issues.
Alfriston Road in East Sussex, will be closed until 6pm tomorrow. Police are advising to seek alternative routes.
Sussex Police responded to the incident which was between Alfriston and Seaford at around 8.30am.
Pictures show a stack of hay bales on fire, causing a heavy plume of white smoke which has been affecting Alfriston Road all day.
A spokeswoman said: "Partner agencies have confirmed that the closure of Alfriston Road, between the Drusillas Roundabout and Seaford, is expected to be in place until 6pm, Fri 5 November.
"Please seek alternative routes at this time."
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have also been at the scene all day.
