A POPULAR coffee shop with three branches around the city has launched an updated brunch menu curated by a new chef.
The new Small Batch Coffee menu is available at three Brighton and Hove sites – Norfolk Square, Seven Dials and Goldstone Villas – and is part of its ongoing effort to make the chain the go-to spot for lunch.
In October last year, after a decade of success in the coffee marketplace, Small Batch decided to complement its coffee offering and launched its first brunch menu.
A year on, this is being relaunched as Small Batch Brunch, a concept it claims everyone in the family can enjoy.
Alongside the updated brunch menu will be a small, carefully selected drinks list centred around local suppliers and coffee-based cocktails.
Served between 9am and 2pm, the menu is the work of new executive chef Andrew MacKenzie.
Andrew trained at Birmingham College of Food before working alongside Alan Hill (Gleneagles) and Nico Ladenis (Chez Nico), both of who he credits as mentors who have helped develop his culinary style over the years.
The curation of the Small Batch Brunch menu will be his first major project at Small Batch Coffee.
The coffee shop there is something for everyone as the menu features "children’s options and delicious classic brunch dishes with a twist through to Espresso Martinis".
Prices range from £10 to £15 per head.
Remy Haudecoeur, head of operations at Small Batch Coffee, said: "This is a very exciting time for Small Batch and we very warmly welcome our new executive chef Andrew MacKenzie.
"We aspire to be the place to go for brunch in Brighton and Andrew’s new menu is reflective of this.
"Proud of our local heritage, we will continue to use local provenance and suppliers for both our coffee and our food.
"We are also delighted by our partnership with local distillery Madame Jennifer and we can’t wait for customers to try our signature coffee liqueur.”
