A RENOWNED magic shop is looking for its next Harry Potter enthusiast to buy it as the owner moves on from the world of wizardry.
Oliver’s Brighton, which sells a wide array of magical goods such as wands, quidditch supplies, magical treats and snacks, is looking for someone to take over the reins.
Oliver Dall, owner of the award-winning magic shop in Trafalgar Street, started the business in 2017 but has decided to move on from his “dream come true”.
He said: “I grew up as part of the first generation of Harry Potter superfans and running Oliver’s Brighton has been a dream come true for me.
“I’m going to be getting married soon, and my future wife is a chef. We’d like to start our next business adventure together.
“It’s been an incredible four years but now I’m ready to hand over the baton, or wand, to the next custodians.”
The shop, which is in the North Laine area of Brighton, is being sold for £120,000 by Hilton Smythe, a business broker service. The price includes all the fixtures, fittings and particulars needed to run a busy shop.
Oliver's Brighton has won 11 awards in total, including gift shop of the year at the South England Prestige Award in August.
The shop has been very popular with Harry Potter fans and curious passersby, evidenced by its thousands of five star reviews.
Oliver added: “If customers leave reviews, whether it’s loyal customers who come in once a week or just the once, it screams positivity.
“We’ve also got over 3,000 five-star reviews across a range of review sites as well.”
Neil Young, valuer at Hilton Smythe, said the shop offers an opportunity to bring “a little magic to the South Coast”.
He added: “There is significant scope to further build and develop the business by increasing opening hours and expanding the online retail offer. Oliver has invested his heart and soul developing the business which he has fitted out to an exceptionally high standard.”
The shop is currently open Tuesday to Thursday from 10am to 5pm and Friday and Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
