A MAN has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a petrol station.
Police were called to the Esso Service Station in Bohemia Road, Hastings, at about 5.15am on Sunday following reports of a man in possession of a firearm.
The man escaped with cigarettes and alcohol. Nobody was injured during the incident.
On Sunday evening, officers arrested a 36-year-old on suspicion of robbery.
He remains in police custody.
A firearm was recovered during a subsequent search of an address in Hastings and has been seized.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery and urge anyone who saw what happened or who may have information to contact them online or by calling 101, quoting serial 284 of 24/10.
