THESE pictures show the aftermath of a three-car crash that closed part of the A27 in both directions.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the crash on the carriageway between Beddingham and Polegate shortly before 2.40pm on Friday, October 22.
The road had been closed in both directions while officers respond to the incident.
Pictures taken from the scene show officers working to investigate the cause of the collision, which involved three cars.
Several police cars blocked the road while debris littered the crash site.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
The road closures remained in place into Friday evening while the collision is investigated.
A spokesman from Sussex Police said: "Witnesses or anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage of the collision is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting Operation Charndon."
