THE NUMBER of season ticket holders at Brighton and Hove Albion has hit a new high.

The club’s overall season ticket based now stands at 24,000 – an increase of around 2,000 on last season – with a renewal rate of 96 per cent.

The 1901 Club season tickets have also sold out for the next five years.

The club announced the premium matchday experience tickets has officially sold out until 2026.

Albion chief executive and deputy chairman Paul Barber said the feat is “truly humbling”.

“To sell-out our 1901 Club for the third consecutive five-year term is an absolutely outstanding show of support to the club from the wider community, and it builds on the record general admission season-ticket sales we enjoyed during the summer,” he said.

“Many of our 1901 Club members are local businesses, and many have endured an incredibly tough time due to the pandemic, so to receive their support for another five-year term is quite astonishing.

“We cannot thank our members enough for their fantastic support.”

With a renewal rate of 96 per cent across all season tickets, Barber highlighted the “amazing support” from the fans.

Prior to the 2021/22 campaign, he said: “The response has been phenomenal and there is no doubt fans can't wait to get back to the Amex.

“We fully understand that these are difficult times, so on behalf of Tony Bloom, Graham Potter and everyone at the club I would like to thank our season-ticket holders and 1901 Club members for this amazing show of support."

Shirt sales continue to increase, with the side’s Hyper Turq away shirt breaking the club’s sales record set by the black away shirt two seasons ago.

The club also set a new record for food and beverage sales at their home fixture against Arsenal earlier this month.

The match saw the highest ever spend per head and record overall sales for a single match day.

Albion catering manager Andy Perkins said: “We are seeing a staggering demand for food and drink, and after the initial difficulties the entire hospitality industry faced throughout August, we were able to enjoy a brilliant day when we played Arsenal in the last home match.

“We are looking forward to delivering another bumper matchday this Saturday evening when we welcome the champions Manchester City to the Amex.”

Albion currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League table – one position and two points off Manchester City.

The two sides will face-off at the Amex at 5.30pm on Saturday, October 23.
