PICTURES show emergency crews clearing flood water in order to reopen the M23 amid a night of heavy rain.
The M23 in Crawley was closed in both directions following a serious crash and flooding yesterday evening and early this morning.
Emergency services then shut the motorway both ways between junctions 10 and 11 to allow for the clearance of floodwater at around 4am.
The northbound side was closed for around three hours but reopened shortly after 7am, with southbound remaining completely shut.
National Highways has now announced that southbound between J10 Crawley to J11 Pease Pottage is now also open.
