It said: "We can give an update in regards to the talks that we have had today with Brighton and Hove city council in regards to refuse and recycling and commercial waste service we haven’t yet reached a deal we are waiting for further communications from the council over the weekend."

The current industrial action began on October 5 and will last two weeks, ending on October 19.
If an agreement is not reached between GMB and the council, a second strike will start on October 21. This is expected to last for five weeks, ending on November 25 if no resolution is met.
