Seven hotels from Sussex have been named among the 100 best in the UK according to a list published by The Sunday Times.
On top of that The Star in Alfriston was crowned the regional winner for the whole of the Southeast.
The other six were the Hotel du Vin in Brighton, the Port Hotel in Eastbourne, The Pig in South Downs in Arundel, The Bell in Ticehurst, the Goodwood Estate and The Gallivant in Rye.
Regional winner The Star is the third hotel owned by the Pollizi's, alongside Hotel Tresanton and Hotel Endsleigh.
The Sunday Times describes it as the "ideal base" to visit spots like Lewes, Glyndebourne and Charleston.
It goes on to say that its rooms are "split between the wonky timber-framed inn, which dates from the 15th century, a 1960s build (which has the bulk of the rooms) and a 1930s extension.
"The heritage junior suite above the bar is the star turn, with pleasingly sloping ceilings, a 16th-century wardrobe, views of the high street and a giant bath."
You can book a stay at The Star through TripAdvisor.
This can be likewise done for the Goodwood Estate, the Hotel du Vin, the Port Hotel, The Bell, The Pig in South Downs and The Gallivant.
