AN ALBION footballer arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has been released on conditional bail.
A man in his 20s, who plays for Brighton and Hove Albion, and a man in his 40s were arrested at a nightclub in Brighton in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The pair, from Brighton, have been released on conditional bail by Sussex Police until November 3.
Officers will continue to make enquiries about the incident.
Police confirmed that the victim is receiving specialist support.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Two men have been arrested after a woman reported being sexually assaulted at a venue in Brighton, in the early hours of Wednesday, October 6.
"A man in his 40s and a man in his 20s, both from Brighton, were arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and have been released on conditional bail until November 3 while enquiries continue.
"The victim is receiving specialist support from officers."
