POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a driver fled the scene of a collision on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a single vehicle which had hit a traffic light signal at the junction of St Joseph’s Close and Old Shoreham Road, Hove.

The incident occurred just before 5pm on Saturday October 2 and caused police to have to block the road westbound by the Homebase store.

A police spokesman said: "The driver had left the scene. Officers searched the area but no one was found and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle’s occupant."
