A MAN who asked an 11-year-old schoolgirl for a kiss and then stole her phone is wanted by police.
The girl was walking home from school along St George’s Road in Worthing between 3pm and 3.30pn on Thursday, September 9, when she dropped her mobile phone.
A man picked up her phone and asked her to kiss him, according to police.
When the 11-year-old girl refused, he said that if she didn’t, he would take her phone.
After the school girl refused again, the man got into a silver-coloured car and drove away with the phone.
Police say the man did not touch or physically threatened the girl, but are searching for the man.
He is white, about 30-years-old and overweight.
He was wearing sunglasses and surgical mask, as well as a pink baseball cap, red t-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.
Police Constable Amie Woodard said: "This was an unpleasant experience for the young girl - although at this stage there is nothing to suggest the man's motives were any more sinister.
“Even so, we want to find him, and recover that phone.
"If that description rings a bell with you, perhaps connected to a silver car, or if you were in the St George's Road area at the time and saw anything of what happened, please contact us.”
Anyone with information should contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting 1457 of 09/09.
