TWO police officers were injured while trying to arrest an alleged drink-driver.
The incident occurred in Church Road, in the village of Catsfield, at about 7.10pm on Monday, September 20.
Officers were called to the scene following reports of a suspected drink-driver.
As two officers attempted to arrest the driver, they both suffered injuries to their knee and wrists.
Police said additional officers attended the scene shortly after and helped detain a man and take him into custody.
Brett Hilton, of no fixed address, was charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
The 42-year-old appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, September 22, and is next due to appear at court in February 2022.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
“Several cars were passing at the time of the incident, and police would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have captured any relevant dash cam footage,” a spokesman said.
