THIS is the moment an ambulance service vehicle burst into flames on a roundabout amid a weekend of traffic "chaos".

A Land Rover was left destroyed after bursting into flames in Dyke Road Avenue.

Dozens of motorists watched on as firefighters rushed to extinguish the blaze.

A video taken from the scene shows the scale of the fire that engulfs the vehicle before burning it out completely.

Equipment thought to have been in the vehicle at the time of the blaze can be seen lying at the side of the road.

It is not yet known what caused the Land Rover to burst into flames.

Several officers from Sussex Police were also pictured at the scene and the burnt remains of the ambulance were wrapped in blue police tape.
