A 59-MILE electric vehicle rally that was postponed over Covid-19 fears is set to take place tomorrow.
More than 65 entrants were due to race from London to Brighton in July, with stars including Fatboy Slim set to take part.
However, the first Big Lemon London to Brighton electric vehicle rally had to be delayed due to the rising coronavirus infection rate in the city.
After being rescheduled, it will now go ahead tomorrow and will feature several big names, including TV presenter, travel writer and motorcycle enthusiast, Charley Boorman, as well as actor, Robert Llewellyn.
Starting at the banks of the River Thames, 65 different vehicles in 11 categories will make their way south before finishing at Brighton beach, with all vehicles displayed on Madeira Drive afterwards.
The event aims to demonstrate and celebrate the rapid development of electric vehicles and renewable energy technology, event co-founder Tom Druitt said.
He added: "We will be welcoming over 65 different vehicles in 11 categories - from e-bikes all the way to buses - and all vehicles be on display on Madeira Drive afterwards.
"The aim of the event is to demonstrate and celebrate the rapid development of electric vehicles and renewable energy technology, and have a fun day in the process.
"We have some very interesting vehicles in our 'self-build' category, and we will be celebrating afterwards with an awards ceremony and after-party at the Grand Hotel, with awards for the most efficient vehicles in each class and also for the most innovative and most sustainable designs.”
Spectators are invited to join the Rally at the halfway point at Ifield Community College and the finish line at Madeira Drive, Brighton.
Visitors will have the opportunity to test drive one of the Big Lemon Electric buses, ride the Volks Railway, drive converted classic cars and have a ride in a 1905 steamed powered car converted to electric.
