THREE walkers have been rescued after being cut off by the tide between Newhaven and Peacehaven.
RNLI crews including crews from Newhaven, Birling gap and Shoreham were called to a group of walkers cut off by the tide yesterday.
All three people were rescued and transferred to Newhaven Harbour where Coastguard teams were there to check them over.
After the incident, Newhaven RNLI warned walkers to check local tide times before setting off.
Writing on Facebook, a spokesman said: " The team were called along with Birling gap team and Shoreham all-weather Lifeboat, to three walkers cut off by the tide between Newhaven and Peacehaven.
"The Lifeboat launched their boat and all three persons were rescued and transferred to Newhaven Harbour where Coastguard teams were at hand to check them over.
"When exploring the coastline always check local tide times. Coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
