THE BODY of a man has been recovered from the coastguard in the English Channel.
Sussex Police confirmed the body was discovered after being found by a passing vessel yesterday evening (September 11).
The man is believed to be in his thirties or forties and thought to have been in the water for several weeks.
A police spokesman said: “Police enquiries are under way and the body is believed to be that of a man possibly in his thirties or forties who had been in the water for several weeks.
“There are currently no suspicious circumstances and a postmortem will be arranged.
“There is currently no evidence to suggest that this is linked to migrant crossings.”
