A MAN in High Weald has won £1,000 for his picture of a Sussex sunset.
Graeme Jones from Wadhurst won the prize, along with a bottle of bubbly, for his entry into a photographic competition, sponsored by Surrey balcony company Balconette.
The photo from his balcony of the summer sun setting over the Weald fought off competition from more than 500 entrants from all corners of the country.
Graeme said: “I usually like to walk around the garden each evening if I can and I stepped out of the back door shortly after a rainstorm had passed to see the amazing sunset.
“I had my mobile with me and I simply stood back and took the picture, it wasn’t composed in any way, it was just as I saw it.
“When I was told I had won the overall competition for the year, I just couldn’t believe it. I feel very lucky.”
Balconette runs the competition every year, with this year’s attracting the most entrants to date.
