A POPULAR restaurant will be hosting its first ever festival at which guests can try lots of different types of gin.

The Sussex Pass at the White Hart in Wadhurst is inviting people to come to its gin festival over the bank holiday weekend, August 28 to 29.

The event will take place on the restaurant's new terrace, the guests will be able to taste over 35 different gins from Sussex, including Birch gin, Mayfield gin and Foxhole Spirits.

Guests will also be able to talk and learn from gin experts in masterclasses that will be put on during the festival.

For those who do not like gin, there is also beer and ciders from local breweries such as Longman, Tonbridge and Cellar Head.

Sam Maynard, the founder of Sussex Pass, said: "We're so looking forward to hosting our first gin festival at Sussex Pass.

"We're very passionate about championing local producers, so are thrilled to be able to offer visitors over 35 Sussex-made gins over the long weekend."

Food that has been sourced from Sussex and Kent will also be on offer. There will be a range of food such as lobster rolls, slow-cooked meats, burritos and mac n cheese that will be cooked outside on Big Green Egg Barbecues.

For entertainment, local bands and artists will be performing throughout the day.

Tickets are priced at £75 for a day ticket and can be booked at the restaurant's website, https://sussexpass.restaurant.

A ticket will entitle guests to unlimited gin and beer.
