A SHOCKED TEENAGER was left “covered in glass” when a rock was hurled through the window of a bus.
Jackson Bradford was travelling home from work at the Holmbush Shopping Centre in Shoreham on Monday evening when the rock was thrown through the window by his seat.
The 17-year-old, who lives in Upper Beeding, near Horsham, said he was sat on the back seat of the bus when suddenly the window “shattered everywhere” and he was left “sitting in glass”.
The sizeable rock landed in the aisle as the bus passed by Southlands Hospital in Shoreham and “narrowly missed” passengers, who could have been seriously injured.
Jackson told The Argus: “It was a close miss. The rock went straight by me – it was crazy.

“I don’t know if it was travelling fast enough but it could have easily caused some damage or at least a nasty gash.
“I managed to get away with just a tiny cut on my finger – it was more the shock of it. Luckily the bus wasn’t very busy.”
Photos taken by Jackson show the extent of the damage caused by the impact of the rock which left a large hole in the window.
Despite the ordeal, Jackson said he has not allowed himself to be “scared off” taking the bus in the future.
He said: “I don’t have time to feel nervous. I rely on buses for work, so I just have to get on with it.”
Brighton and Hove Buses who were running the service said the driver stopped the bus "immediately" to check all passengers were safe.
A spokeswoman said: "Our rapid response team who arrived at the scene straight away.
"Passengers transferred onto another bus to continue their onward journey."
Sussex Police said they were aware of the incident and are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police were called to a report of a rock being thrown at the front of a bus in Shoreham at 8.50pm on August 16.
“Damage was caused to the windscreen of the vehicle as it passed Southlands Hospital in Hammy Lane.
“One passenger is reported to have suffered a minor cut.
“Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is asked to report online or call 101 quoting serial 1387 of 16/08.”
