A BRIGHTON and Hove Albion player has been listed as the best value player in his position in Fantasy Premier League.
With the new campaign fast approaching, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will be finalising their selections for Gameweek 1 ahead of the season opener between Brentford and Arsenal this evening.
While many will be trying to choose between Romelu Lukaku or Harry Kane and Phil Foden or Kevin De Bruyne, an Albion player has been highlighted as the best value for money between the sticks.
Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez racked up over 100 points in the 2020/21 campaign on FPL, despite only making 27 appearances after replacing Maty Ryan as Graham Potter’s first choice in December last year.
He kept ten clean sheets and conceded just 27 goals.
The keeper remains a bargain at £4.5 million and a must have for your 15-man squad for the new campaign.
While other goalkeepers are available for £0.5 million less, the Spaniard is likely to start for his side unlike the alternatives.
The 23-year-old currently features in over a quarter (25.3 per cent) of FPL squads.
Only eight goalkeepers kept more clean sheets than him over the whole of last year’s campaign – all of which started between four and 11 games more.
Fantasy league managers must select two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three forwards for the season ahead.
Participants will have 38 free transfers and two wildcards in hand to make altercations to their teams over the course of the season 2021/22 season.
Managers have until 6.30pm on August 13 to finalise their squads.
In a recent interview with The Argus, Robert Sanchez said he has learnt to play much calmer than he ever thought he could.
“I learnt that from playing games,” he said.
“Watching my first games against Tottenham, against Fulham, and then watching games like Liverpool away and then the final ones, I can see a lot of progress on decision-making, on timing, when to play short and when to play long.
“Playing at the highest level, you have to get up to speed quite quick. It has been quite a big difference in six months.”
