The next memorable season opener has to be the first Premier League fixture ever held at the Amex Stadium.
Albion had just been promoted to the top flight of English football for the first time since 1983.
The club celebrated the start of the 2017/18 Premier League season with a flag-waving display from the fans, creating a stunning scene.
On the pitch, the Seagulls gave a good account of themselves against Champions League side Manchester City.
However, the difference in ability was clear as Pep Guardiola’s side won the game 2-0.
Sergio Aguero scored the opener in the 70th minute before an own-goal from Lewis Dunk five minutes later sealed the result.
Despite the defeat the match is one that will live for a long time in Albion fans’ memories.
