ALBION will start this season’s Premier League campaign with a trip to Burnley.
To mark the occasion, The Argus has looked back at some of their most memorable opening day fixtures in the last ten years.
One match that stands out is the 3-0 away victory against Watford at Vicarage Road in August 2019. New manager Graham Potter was in the dugout for his first ever competitive match.
The team was in excellent form as they dispatched Watford. The scoring was opened by Abdoulaye Doucoure own goal.
Albion then scored two more goals in 12 second half minutes. Florin Andone’s tidy finish doubled the lead in the 65th minute.
The scoring was completed by Neal Maupay in the 77th minute. The striker rounded the keeper and scored from a tight angle.
It was a game Albion’s travelling fans thoroughly enjoyed.
