A HARRY Potter themed shop has won its ninth award in just four years of business.
Oliver’s Brighton in Trafalgar Street was recently crowned gift shop of the year at the South England Prestige Awards.
It is the ninth award received by the shop since opening in 2017.
The store is not officially affiliated with the Harry Potter franchise, J.K. Rowling or Warner Bros, but offers 500 different Harry Potter related items including butterbeer and wands.
Owner Oliver Dall said the “secret wizarding shop” is thrilled to have won yet another award.
“If customers leave reviews, whether it’s loyal customers who come in once a week or just the once, it screams positivity.
“We’ve also got over 3,000 five-star reviews across a range of review sites as well.”
Oliver’s Brighton now offers a private shopping experience – a 30-minute time slot to allow customers time to look around the store with Oliver.
“Whether you are looking to spend £5 or £500, we will treat you with the best customer experience we physically can,” he said.
“When we used to get really busy, we could never offer the same service to everyone as queues would start, people would be waiting out the door.”
A £10 deposit is required but will be returned whether you purchase anything or not.
The sweet emporium offers a range of Harry Potter themed food and drink, as well as a range of licensed wands.
Oliver said the hand-painted wands, which are on sale for £33, are a top seller at the store.
“There are about 70 to 80 wands in the Harry Potter series, including a deluxe one which is Hagrid’s umbrella.
“The most popular wand is the Hermione Granger. Underneath the Gryffindor silk and amongst the green velvet is the wand is the wand.”
The store is not affiliated with Warner Bros but does have official merchandise.
