POLICE are appealing for information after an intruder made “indecent remarks” to a young woman.
The incident occurred in London Road in Bexhill about 4.30am on Tuesday, July 20.
Police said a woman in her 20s was subject to a “frightening experience” in her own bedroom.
The woman awoke to see the intruder leaning through an open window in the bedroom on the ground floor of her house.
“He then made an indecent remark, whereupon she managed to close the window and he made off,” a police spokesman said.
The man, who was captured on nearby CCTV, is white and was wearing a baseball-style cap, glasses, grey winter gloves and dark clothing.
He also had a grey top of some kind in his waist band.
Detective sergeant Paul Elrick pleaded with the public to come forward if you recognise the man.
“This was a frightening and very unpleasant experience for the victim,” he said.
“Although it is an isolated incident, we have not had anything similar in the area.
“We want to find him and establish exactly what he was up to.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 180 of 20/07.
