A LIBRARY will close for a fortnight to allow for repairs to its roof after numerous leaks.
Henfield Library will close its doors for two weeks from August 2.
West Sussex County Council said repair work on the building’s roof need to be undertaken as the library has experienced numerous leaks over the past few years.

Work will include removing the roof tiles and the existing damaged membrane - a form of underlay that sits underneath the tiles to prevent damp and mould.
A new breathable membrane will be fitted to allow trapped vapour and condensation to ventilate from the roof and the tiles will be rehung, replacing any which are damaged.
Council cabinet member for community support Duncan Crow said while disappointing to close the library, the work is essential.
“It’s unfortunate that we are having to close one of our 36 libraries for two weeks, especially as they have just gone back to pre-covid opening hours,” he said.
“But this work is entirely necessary to make sure that the building is kept in good condition and so that customers can enjoy the space all year round.
“We ask all our regular Henfield Library visitors to bear with us whilst the work is taking place and I know our staff will be happy to welcome you back when the doors re-open on Monday, August 16.”
Prior to its closure, residents can still borrow up to 20 items on their library card. No loans from the library will be due back during the two-week closure.
The children’s library Bookbus will be in the car park next to Henfield Library on August 2 and 3 between 10am and 2pm.
Children wanting to participate in the Wild World Heroes Summer Reading Challenge 2021 can also visit the Bookbus on these dates to collect their goody bag, filled with everything they need to take part in the challenge, and choose some books to read.
Online services will still be available, with more information on the closure available online also.
