POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two assaults on a woman in a single week.
The first incident took place about 5pm on Wednesday, July 14, in Cortis Avenue in Worthing.
Police said two men, one carrying a metal bar, approached a 40-year-old woman.
The men made threats to harm her, before making off in a large pickup truck.
The second incident took place on Monday, July 19, about 4.30pm.
A man approached a black 4X4 vehicle parked in The Boulevard, near Durrington railway station.
The suspect used a bottle to spray a substance over the woman inside, who suffered minor injuries.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent in connection to the incident.
The 40-year-old has been released on bail until August 18, pending further enquiries.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on bail until August 17.
The suspects and the victim are all known to each other, according to police.
Crime investigator Perry Humphreys said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the two incidents or anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of them to make contact with us."
