FIREFIGHTERS worked through the night to tackle a blaze at a newly opened restaurant in Worthing.
Crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to the blaze at Monsoon, in Goring Road late last night.
Three engines from Worthing were dispatched after the service received serval 999 calls at 02.29am.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze, as well as two hose reels and one jet.
The flats above the restaurant were also evacuated.
Pictures taken from the scene show crews working through the night to extinguish the fire which started in the restaurant.
According to the venue's Facebook page, it had opened its doors to customers for the first time three days ago.
Part of the inside of the restaurant can be seen to be damaged by the blaze as firefighters entered to investigate.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Overnight we attended a fire at a restaurant in Goring Road, Worthing after receiving numerous 999 calls at 02.29am.
"Residents in the flats above were evacuated and three crews from Worthing extinguished the fire within an hour using two hose reels, one jet and breathing apparatus.
"The fire was contained to the restaurant and all persons were accounted for."
