A MOTORIST has appeared at court charged with dangerous driving and drug offences.
Halmat Mohammed Jabar is accused of possessing cannabis and amphetamines with intent to supply, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.
Jabar was driving a blue Citroen C4 when he was approached by officers on the A259 at Brighton seafront at around 10.30am on Sunday, July 18.
He allegedly drove away at speed towards the Sea Life centre roundabout before later being stopped and arrested in Hove.
The 25-year-old appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Monday.
Jabar, of The Crestway, was remanded into custody.
He will appear at Lewes Crown Court next month.
