TWO men have been arrested after a man was left with serious injuries in a suspected assault.
Officers were called to Chichester Road, Bognor, at 5pm on Tuesday following reports of two suspects assaulting a man outside the Royal Oak pub before driving off in a car.
A 40-year-old man suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital for treatment.
Two men - both aged 20 and from Pagham - were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
They remain in custody for questioning.
The assault is being treated as isolated and enquiries continue to establish the circumstances of the incident.
A spokesman from Sussex Police said: "Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has information that may assist with enquiries, is urged to report online or call 101, quoting 992 of 20/07."
