A PERSON has been found dead on a railway track in Shoreham.
British Transport Police were called to the line at 5.15am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended the scene, however, the person was pronounced dead.
This incident is not being treated as suspicious.
The railway lines in both directions between Worthing and Brighton were initially blocked while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Full service is being reintroduced with passengers warned to expect delays.
Those already travelling can use their ticket on Brighton and Hove buses Stagecoach 700 to continue their journey, Southern Rail said.
A spokesman from British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police were called to the line in Shoreham-by-Sea at 5.15am this morning (21 July) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
