SMOKE billowed into the sky across Hove this afternoon after a fire broke out in a home.
Firefighters were called to Brunswick Place to battle a blaze which had broken out shortly before 11am yesterday.
Residents across Hove watched on as smoke from the fire swirled into the air.
Pictures from the seafront show people watching on as the smoulder stretched into the skyline.
Firefighters from Preston Circus, Roedean, Hove, Seaford, Newhaven and Lewes were called to the scene.
They used four Breathing Apparatus, 1 in 7 foam and one main jet to tackle the fire.
At about 2pm yesterday, the fire service said: "The incident at Brunswick Place is now being scaled down.
"A fire investigation is due to take place later today.
"An Emergency Planning Officer is on scene assisting affected residents.
"Thank you to all those who assisted us in tackling this fire."
