IT WAS uplifting to see the visions presented by council officials of the future of the Old Shoreham Road cycle lanes.
However, there seem to be two obvious mistakes - the presence of numerous cyclists (none of whom, incidentally, appears to be wearing a crash helmet) and the absence of a queue of traffic at Hove Park.
Anyone who regularly uses the stretch between Hove Park and Sackville Road will testify to the infrequent sighting of cyclists and the frequent queue of traffic from Sackville Road to well past the traffic lights at Fonthill Road.
You report that there were 510 negative comments on these cycle lanes compared to 49 positive comments. The conclusion would seem obvious.
