A SECTION of a busy carriageway has been closed while emergency services deal with a collision.
There are delays of up to six minutes on the A259 at Climping, after a collision this afternoon.
Several road closures are in place between Ferry Road and the Bridge Road Roundabout.
According to an AA traffic report, there is "very slow" traffic as the road remains partially blocked.
Sussex Police have urged motorists to avoid the area.
Writing on Twitter a spokesman said: "We are currently in attendance at a road traffic collision on the A259 at Climping.
"Road closures are currently in place between Ferry Road and the Bridge Road Roundabout. Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route."
An AA traffic report reads: "The road is partially blocked and there is very slow traffic due to accident on the A259 both ways between Church Lane and B2187 Bridge Road.
"It is affecting traffic between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis."
