BRIGHTON Beach is officially Britain’s most Instagrammed beach.

Data from digital marketing firm Extreme has revealed the top ten most Instagrammed coastal spots from around the UK.

Brighton Beach sits atop of the charts having registered 865,000 tags, followed by three Dorset beaches.

Other popular Sussex coastal hotspots featured in the UK’s top 100 include West Wittering with 22,000 Instagram mentions.

While Cuckmere Haven got 21,100, Pevensey Bay had 10,000 and Burling Gap beach received 1,800.

From the sandy shores of Yorkshire down to the South Coast, here is the top ten most Instagrammed beaches in Britain:

1. Brighton, Sussex (#BrightonBeach) — 865,000 mentions

2. White Nothe, Dorset (#WhiteNothe) — 740,000

3. Durdle Door, Dorset (#DurdleDoor) — 245,000

4. Bournemouth, Dorset (#BournemouthBeach) — 158,000

5. Scarborough, Yorkshire (#ScarboroughBeach) — 148,000

6. Botany Bay, Kent (#BotanyBay) — 94,600

7. Hunstanton, Norfolk (#Hunstanton) — 88,600

8. Robin Hood’s Bay, Yorkshire (#RobinHoodsBay) — 78,500

9. Morecambe, Lancashire (#MorecambeBay) — 57,100

10. Saltburn Beach, Yorkshire (#SaltburnByTheSea) — 46,800

A deeper dive into the data reveals some of the less-frequented hidden coastal gems around the UK.

In Scotland, the pick of the bunch included Lunan Bay (10,000), Luskentyre Beach (7,100) and Sandwood Bay (4,800), while Wales’s top picks include Pembrokeshire’s Barafundle Bay (13,000) and Marloes Sands (3,200)

Extreme also highlighted Yorkshire’s Boggle Hole (3,800) and Sandsend Beach (3,300) as their top hidden gems.
