A PERVERT who was caught masturbating in his car had secretly filmed a woman getting undressed.

David Lefranc, who was convicted of 13 counts of outraging public decency and one count of voyeurism, appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday to face sentencing.

The 30-year-old civil servant, of Teal Court in St Leonards, was arrested by officers after reports of a man performing sex acts in a car parked in Hoads Wood Road, Hastings, on January 4.

The same vehicle was linked to a second report of a man acting indecently in a vehicle in Southwater Road on February 17.

Officers examined Lefranc's phone upon arrest and found several videos of him masturbating in his vehicle while it was parked in public places, which resulted in 13 separate charges of outraging public decency.

Another video of a woman getting dressed inside a property was also found, and he was further arrested on suspicion of voyeurism.

Lefranc had pleaded guilty to all 14 offences when he appeared before magistrates on May 17.

On Thursday he was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment for each charge of outraging public decency, to run concurrently, and nine months for the voyeurism offence, to run consecutively.

His sentence was reduced to reflect his early guilty plea and he was sentenced to to 14 months in prison in total, suspended for 24 months.

He was ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation to his victim as well as 200 hours of unpaid work, and must complete rehabilitation activity.

A Sexual Harm Prevention Order has been put in place for 10 years, and Lefranc will be named on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.

Police say they continue to take reports of this nature very seriously, and thanked those involved in the case for coming forward to report the incidents and support the investigation.
