A MAN has been found safe after emergency services launched a search and rescue operation last night.
Services including police and paramedics combed an area near Swanbourne Lake in Arundel in darkness on Tuesday evening.
Pictures taken from the scene show fire and ambulance crews stationed at the site, while crews continued the search.
The National Police Air Service was also said to have been involved in the search which one passerby claimed lasted five hours.
According to Sussex Police, the man was found safely.
A passerby told The Argus: "The man, who was missing for five hours, was found by the NPAS helicopter on a steep bank of the lake.
"Police, fire and ambulance crews were at the scene."
